Ahead of Mother’s Day, luxury brands are looking to help consumers celebrate their moms with personalized gifts and pampering experiences.
According to data from the National Retail Federation, Mother’s Day spending in the United States will be up this year, reaching a record $25 billion. Consumers are branching out into categories beyond flowers, and luxury brands are responding with both physical and intangible gift ideas designed to be different.
Independent research firm COMvergence has recognised dentsu X India and Mindshare as the top two media agencies as part of its New Business Barometer 2018 report.
The report evaluated the momentum forward, measuring 20 media agencies on major media account moves, retentions and new assignments from existing clients. During 2018, there were 170 pitches, and 82% of assessed media pitches and moves are related to local reviews.

Dentsu Aegis today announces the acquisition of RED, the largest independent digital agency group in Norway. Pending clearance from the Norwegian Competition Authority, RED will co-brand as dentsu X, launching the brand in Norway. “RED dentsu X” will become the largest of the brand’s offices in Northern Europe, building scale and new capabilities in the region.
